What this website is

Money Guidance is a free, advertising-supported publisher of educational reference material and browser-based tools. We are not a bank, a broker, an insurer, an exchange, a medical provider, a law firm or an adviser of any kind, and we are not regulated as one. No relationship of adviser and client, doctor and patient, or lawyer and client is created by your use of this site.

No professional advice

Everything published here is general information addressed to the public at large. It takes no account of your objectives, your financial position, your health or your legal situation. It is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any asset, to adopt any strategy, or to take or avoid any treatment. Read our full Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

Accuracy and availability

We research carefully, cite primary sources where relevant and review pages periodically. Even so, the content is provided “as is”. Rules, rates, tax thresholds, medical guidance and market conditions change, sometimes the day after we publish. We give no warranty that the site is accurate, complete, current or uninterrupted, and we may change or withdraw any part of it without notice.

Use of the calculators

The tools run in your browser and return an estimate from the numbers you type in. They use published, generalised formulas and deliberately exclude variables they cannot know, such as your specific contract terms, fees, taxes, rounding conventions and eligibility rules. Two providers applying the same headline rate can legitimately produce different figures from ours. Treat every result as an approximation for orientation, never as a quotation, valuation, diagnosis or statement of what you owe or will receive.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Money Guidance, its operators and its contributors are not liable for any loss or damage — including loss of profit, loss of capital, or any indirect or consequential loss — arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website or anything on it. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

Intellectual property

The text, layout, code and design of this site are owned by Money Guidance and protected by copyright. You may read, print and share pages for your own non-commercial use, and you may quote a short extract with a visible credit and a link back. You may not republish substantial parts of the site, scrape it in bulk, or use its content to train a machine learning model without our written permission.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use this site unlawfully, not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, not to interfere with its operation or security, not to impose an unreasonable load on it through automated requests, and not to click on advertisements artificially or encourage others to do so. Invalid ad activity puts our advertising account at risk and we take it seriously.

Third-party links and advertising

Advertisements are selected and served by Google, not by us. We do not choose which advertisers appear, do not endorse them, and are not responsible for their products, their claims or their websites. Editorial links to third-party resources are provided for reference only. Your dealings with any third party are solely between you and them.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the version published here is the one in force. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws applicable at our place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
