Terms of use

The conditions on which this site is made available, in plain language.

These terms govern your use of moneyguidance.site. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

1. What this site provides

MoneyGuidance publishes general educational content about personal finance. It is provided for information only. It is not financial, investment, tax, legal or accounting advice, and it does not take account of your personal circumstances. See our disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

No adviser-client, fiduciary or professional relationship is created between you and us by your use of this site or by any correspondence with us.

2. Permitted use

You may read, print and share our pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, and link to them from elsewhere. You may quote short extracts with clear attribution and a link back to the original page.

You may not:

  • Republish substantial parts of the site, in any medium, without written permission.
  • Sell, licence or commercially exploit our content.
  • Use automated systems to scrape or copy the site at a scale that affects its operation.
  • Remove copyright or attribution notices.
  • Use the content to train machine learning models without permission.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or interfere with its operation.
  • Use the site for anything unlawful, or in a way that harms others.

3. Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the content of this site — text, layout, design, code and graphics — is owned by us or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright. The MoneyGuidance name and logo are our marks.

Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property right to you.

4. Accuracy and availability

We take care to be accurate, and we correct errors when we find them. Even so, the site is provided "as is". We do not warrant that content is complete, current or error-free, and financial rules, rates and product terms change frequently.

Worked examples use illustrative figures. They are calculations under stated assumptions, not predictions about your situation or a guarantee of any result.

We do not guarantee that the site will be available without interruption. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time without notice.

5. Third-party links and advertising

The site links to third-party websites and displays advertising served by third-party networks. We do not control those sites or advertisements and are not responsible for their content, products, services or privacy practices.

An advertisement or link appearing on this site is not an endorsement. Read the terms and privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site — including financial loss, lost profits, lost savings, or losses arising from decisions made on the basis of its content.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

You are responsible for decisions you make about your own money. Where a decision is significant, take advice from a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.

7. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is set out in the privacy policy and cookie policy, which form part of these terms.

8. Messages you send us

If you send us a message, question or correction, you grant us permission to use it to improve the site. We will not publish your name or contact details without your permission. Do not send confidential information or full financial details through the contact form — we cannot give personalised advice and do not want to hold data we do not need.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows the last revision, and continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Governing law

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which the site operator is established, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction — except that consumers retain any right to bring proceedings in their country of residence where local law provides it.

11. If part of these terms is unenforceable

If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
